In Ihrer Arbeit beschäftigen sie sich mit den Verbindungen zwischen China und Europa, dem globalen Handel, der neuen Seidenstraße sowie den städtebaulichen und landschaftlichen Veränderungen, die damit einhergehen. Dafür waren sie sehr viel unterwegs und haben ihr eigenes Fotoequipment unter die Lupe genommen.

In their work, they deal with the connections between China and Europe, global trade, the new Silk Road and the urban and landscape changes that accompany it. To do this, they travelled a lot and put their own photographic equipment under the microscope.

Ihre fotografische Praxis beruht auf dem Prinzip der Nachhaltigkeit und widmet sich den Themen rund um Umweltzerstörung. Leichte Seidenschals zeigen Luftbildaufnahmen der großen Todeszone in der Ostsee, die durch die exzessive Landwirtschaft und Industrieabwässer der umliegenden Länder hervorgerufen wird.

Małgorzata Stankiewicz talks about her work Viriditas XXI in the exhibition Contested Landscapes. Her photographic practice is based on the principle of sustainability and is dedicated to the issues surrounding environmental degradation. Light silk scarves show aerial views of the large death zone in the Baltic Sea caused by excessive agriculture and industrial wastewater from the surrounding countries.
